The father of a Warren County teen who was sexually abused by his former teacher lashed out at the woman Wednesday, moments after she was sentenced to more jail time for sending the boy nude pictures while she was on probation.
The teacher, Pamela Rogers, was jailed in 2005 after she admitted to having sex with the student, who was 13 at the time. She was released on probation six months into her eight-year sentence and, despite a judge's order not to contact the boy, used a cell phone to send him sexually explicit photos of herself, authorities said.
On Wednesday, Rogers, 29, received an additional two-year prison sentence.
"It's her fault. She got what she deserved," the boy's father said after the hearing. The Tennessean is not identifying the father because it could identify the abuse victim. "Maybe she will do her time and go on with her life."
Rogers pleaded guilty to two counts of solicitation of the sexual exploitation of a minor. Rogers agreed to drop her appeal of the previous sentence, and two other charges against her were dismissed.
She received an additional two years for each of the two charges, which will be served at the same time after the conclusion of her first sentence. She will have to serve at least 30 percent of the new sentences, and her attorney calculated that she should be eligible for parole sometime next year. She faced as many as 16 additional years in prison had the case gone to trial.
Her attorney, Peter Strianse, said he wasn't sure why Rogers "became obsessed" with the boy.
"Hopefully there are no (romantic) feelings that are present at this point," he said. "In my discussions with her, I think she's over that."
