Knox Schools employee arrested for DUI driving county car

A Knox County Schools employee driving a car owned by Knox County was arrested for DUI early Thursday morning.

William Anderson, III, age 55 was pulled over after a police officer noticed the maroon Crown Victoria he was driving swerving erratically on Magnolia Avenue at around 2:00 a.m.

Anderson failed a field sobriety test after being pulled over, and was arrested. He agreed to a blood alcohol test, and was taken to UT Medical Center, and then to the Knox County Detention Center.

According to Russ Oaks, spokesman for Knox County Schools, Anderson is employed with the schools as a contract administrator, overseeing construction contracts. He has a a take-home car owned by the county as part of his job.
