Sevier County deputies discovered skeletal remains this weekend, then charged a local man with murder.

The remains were found early Sunday morning, just off Creek Hollow Way in Sevier County. Officials say they belong to a man. Anthropology experts will use special tests to make positive identification.

John Garner was arrested shortly after the discovery. Deputies booked the 38-year-old Sevierville man on 1st degree murder charges. Garner will stay in jail until his arraignment.
