Knoxville Police officer arrested on aggravated assault warrant

Knoxville Police have placed an officer on paid administrative leave following his arrest on an aggravated assault warrant.

Brian L. Hoover, 29, was arrested around 11 Monday morning and is held at the Knox County Sheriff's intake center on $10,000 bond. A warrant for his arrest was issued following the alleged assault's report on Sunday.

KPD reports Hoover has been a police officer since May 2002.
