The power of two wheels and more than a thousand kind hearted bikers kick started the 2007 Toys for Tots campaign this weekend. Their mission is to put new toys in the hands of kids in need. Organizers say it took a year to plan but only moments to realize area bikers want to make sure East Tennessee children get toys under their Christmas trees this year.

More than 2,000 people poured into the Sevierville Fairgrounds to support the 16th Annual Toys for Tots Marine Corps Bike Run.

"You know we've got families without food, families without clothes, servicemen overseas and their families are here and there's a lot of people that aren't going to get toys unless things like this happen and that's what we're here for is to make sure those kids end up with a Christmas," event coordinator J.T. Cash said.

Each biker brought a new unwrapped toy to donate. Organizers say they collected more than a thousand toys on Sunday.
