Rumors of a new Netflix distribution center actually located in the Knoxville area have local movie-watchers looking forward to faster turnarounds.
However, according to Steve Swayze with Netflix Corporate Communications, no manned distribution center is planned for Knoxville. Tennessee's Netflix distribution hub will remain in Memphis.
However, Swayze says the company has added a "drop point" in Knoxville, which is essentally a centralized post office location in town for all Netflix mail.
Swayze says that the drop point will indeed make Netflix service somewhat faster for Knoxville-area customers.
