A Scott County family is still mourning the loss of their mother one year later.
Sixty-six-year-old Jean Johnson disappeared on February 24, 2007 and hasn't been seen since. Investigators believe Johnson was murdered and say Johnson's ex-husband, Douglas Whisnant, is a suspect in the case.
Sunday, Johnson's family returned to the spot where her van was found to remember her and renew hope for finding her.
"It's been one year since my Mom's been missing," said Johnson's daughter, Dorothy Taylor.
Taylor says the search for her mother's body has been a year-long period of grief.
"You get up wondering everyday and you open the drapes and you say 'Okay, where do I start today, where do I start to look for Mom?" Taylor said.
Sunday, Taylor was joined by members of Oneida Church of God to remember Johnson and show support for her family.
Taylor says cold weather has put a temporary hold on the family's search, but once temperatures rise, they plan to continue until Jean Johnson is found.
"You feel like the last thing that you could do for your Mom is find her and give her a burial and right now we can't do that," Taylor said.
Johnson's ex-husband is currently jailed on a weapons charge and has not been officially charged with her murder.
