Fire authorities and investigators spent most of the morning at the Sports Belle Incorporated site. They said it will likely be several days before the cause of a fire there is known.
Emergency crews were called to the scene of a business fire on Pleasant Ridge Rd. in Knoxville Sunday night just before 10.
Rural/Metro has determined the fire started somewhere in the back of the building and moved forward through the interior walls.
Smoke poured from the building as crews surveyed the damage. KFD and Rural/Metro were on the scene.
The owner was out of town at the time of the fire.
Sports Belle Inc. has manufactured athletic uniforms since 1974, including, at one time, UT's jerseys.
