Two men have been sentenced to two years in prison each in what are believed to be the first-ever dogfighting convictions in Hamblen County.

Stephen Ewing and Bobby Joe Killian were convicted last week and sentenced on Thursday.

Hamblen-Morristown animal control officers confiscated the men's four pit bulls on Ewing's property last year.

Authorities say two of the dogs were injured due to use in the dogfighting ring.

Ewing and Killian are out on bond pending appeal.
