Michael Blanchard learned to cook in his grandmother's kitchen, and now he is carrying on her traditions at The Gibson Girls in Kingston.

Blanchard says his grandmother had a passion for family and for entertaining guests. She and her sisters live on in Michael's cakes and cookies at the Gibson Girls.

"From A to Z, we would cook, and she would tell me about the family, and it was real important to me because I am adopted, and I felt very lucky to be in this family. It's meant even more to me that I was chosen to be in this family." The Gibson Girls started as a small eatery but has now grown into a catering and Internet business. Blanchard says it's all about preserving his grandmother's legacy.
