Tennessee is now among 16 states that have received paperwork for independent presidential candidate Ralph Nader to be placed on their ballots.
Supporters of the 74-year-old consumer advocate and political activist submitted petitions to the Secretary of State's division of elections on Friday for Nader and running-mate Matt Gonzalez to be placed on Tennessee's November ballot.
Tennessee law requires the signatures of 275 registered voters to qualify. The Nader/Gonzalez campaign submitted 584 signatures.
Nader has run for president several times, including 2000 and 2004.
