For the first time since a deadly mass shooting at Tennessee Valley Unitarian Universalist Church, we are learning about the condition of one of the victims.
Tammy Sommers was wounded in the attack.
A statement from her mother, Cathy Williams, said Sommers has started intense rehabilitation this week. Williams indicated Sommers had suffered post-trauma confusion but that Sommers is becoming aware of what happened and what her path to recovery will be.
Williams said Sommers still has complete physical ability and is excited about her sons starting school soon.
Sommers' mother also expressed gratitude to the community for its support and the message of love that has been sent to the family.
