A Knoxville landmark is getting a facelift and a new job.
Knox County Mayor Bill Haslam and Pete Claussen, the owner of the old Southern Railway steam engine in Chilhowee Park, announced a multi-year plan to restore the engine.
Engine No. 154 has a new future as part of the "Three Rivers Rambler," a tourist excursion train on Knoxville's downtown waterfront.
The steam engine is being donated to the Rambler by the Old Smoky Mountain Railway Museum.
Knoxville Locomotive Works will be part of the restoration process.
