A Dayton man has been arrested for homicide in connection with skeletal remains found in the woods near his mother's home. Some neighborhood dogs brought the bones into one man's yard, who called police.

Jimmy Lee Kight, 20, is charged with criminal homicide.

The skeletal remains are believed to be his mother, Sandra Lantz, 37, of 1517 Pierce Hill Road in Dayton. Investigators are still working on positive confirmation.

Investigators believe Lantz was slain on December 16. The remains have been taken to the University of Tennessee Forensic Anthropology Center for further examination.

Kight was arrested by agents with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and has been booked into the Rhea County Jail. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation got involved at the request of the District Attorney.
