An outlaw bootlegger known to the world as "Popcorn" was buried during a small private ceremony in the mountains of East Tennessee.

Costner-Maloy Funeral Home of Newport, Tennessee issued a release saying the ceremony took place Wednesday morning.

According to the funeral home, Marvin "Popcorn" Sutton gave his family explicit handwritten instructions for his service. The notes included who Mr. Sutton wanted to have at his graveside burial and instructions that his final resting place should be next to his mother and father.

Authorities say the 62 year old from Parrottsville, Tennessee died of an apparent suicide on March 16. Sutton was days away from reporting to jail to serve a conviction related to his moonshine-making.

Online condolences for the family may be sent to: cstnrmly@charterinternet.com.
