A Republican lawmaker has decided not to resurrect three voting bills in the House.
The bills Rep. Gerald McCormick of Chattanooga had considered bringing up would require a photo ID to vote and proof of citizenship to register and would allow deployed troops to fax or e-mail their absentee ballots.
All three bills failed in the elections subcommittee.
McCormick needed 10 votes Tuesday in the House State and Local Government Committee to bring the bills to a new vote.
McCormick said he would "let them be killed for this year" but plans to bring them up again next year.
