
Dr. Jim McIntyre, Knox County schools superintendent, announced several new appointments Thursday.
Tim Weigenstein was appointed as principal at Halls Middle School. Weigenstein joined Knox County in 1986 and has been serving as assistant principal at Cedar Bluff Middle School since 2003.
Weigenstein holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education and a Master of Arts Degree in Education from Southeast Missouri State University.
Michael Derrick was hired as principal at Carter Middle School. Derrick is currently the principal at J.C. Lynch Elementary School in Coward, South Carolina. He has been an educator in South Carolina since 1994 and has been in school administration since 2005.
Derrick has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education from the College of Charleston and a Master of Science Degree in Elementary Adminstration from The Citadel.
