Hundreds of people will have a chance to receive free medical and dental care this weekend.
Remote Area Medical is scheduled to be at Lincoln Memorial University, opening at 6 a.m. Saturday and Sunday. The clinic is open to everyone, regardless of income.
RAM volunteer doctors, nurses and dentists will spend hours each day performing a variety of free services.
All services are first-come, first-served. Organizers said people should be prepared to wait in line.
Volunteer veterinarians will be present to spay and neuter cats and dogs for free, but only to households with an annual income level of $15,000 or less. Proof of income will be required for these services only. Animals shouldn't have anything to eat for 12 hours prior to surgery, but water is fine. They should also be in good overall health and at least four months old.
