Tennessee Department of Health Commissioner Susan Cooper has suspended new admission to the Life Care Center of Red Bank nursing home.

The decision was based on a complaint investigation and annual survey that found violations in the areas of administration, performance improvement, physician services, nursing services, medical records and pharmaceutical services.

The Chattanooga home faces a one-time state penalty of $5,000 and a federal penalty of $6,150 a day until the violations are corrected.
