All lanes of Interstate 75 in Loudon County reopened Sunday night after two crashes over the Tennessee River.

The wrecks had shut down all lanes of interstate at Mile Marker 74 Sunday afternoon around 4:00 p.m.

Dispatchers in Loudon Co. say the accidents happened within minutes of one another, both at the river bridge. The southbound lanes were shut down for about an hour, and the northbound lanes were closed for about 90 minutes.

One of the accidents involved two vehicles, and the other involved a tractor trailer and another vehicle.

At least one person was taken to a hospital, but authorities believe their injuries were not life-threatening.

The wrecks happened around the time that a severe thunderstorm passed through the area.

TDOT originally reported three separate crashes on the bridge but authorities later revised the number to two.
