Student group protests Israel's actions

A group protesting the Israeli airstrikes gathered in Knoxville on Friday.

Students For Justice In Palestine is a group at UT. They say Israel's aggression against the Palestinians is "genocide."

One student member says the situation in Palestine before the conflict was still troubled, and big changes need to be made.

"Palestinians don't want to just go back to how it was. If there's no ceasefire with conditions for removing the siege, allowing people freedom of movement, getting enough goods and aid into the area. Palestinians don't want it," said Amira Sakalla.

Protesters in India, Jordan, Turkey and other countries also rallied against Israel Friday.

Anti-Israeli sentiment is strong in Turkey after Israeli commandos intercepted Turkish ships bound for Gaza.
