Tennessee singer rocks out on 'Voice,' knocked out in battle round

Oct. 10, 2016: Tennessee singer Dan Shafer was knocked out of "The Voice" during the battle rounds.

Tennessee singer Dan Shafer rocked out on NBC's "The Voice" Monday, but was knocked out of the singing competition during the battle round. 

Shafer went head-to-head with country singer Sundance Head in the knockout round. The two Team Blake members sang Bad Company's "Feel Like Making Love."

Judges complimented Shafer on his stage presence, and for bringing the audience into his performance. Forced to choose between the two singers, though, judge Blake Shelton went with Head. 

Shafer said he was glad he got the chance to show off his talents and gifts. The Mt. Juliet resident was the oldest contestant this season at 57. 

The singer wowed judges with his blind auditions at the beginning of the season.

Shafer also performs at gigs all across Nashville and Tennessee with a cover group called the Classic Rock All Stars.
