Troopers are hitting the highways this weekend to keep us all a little safer.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol is taking part in another round of the 'Staying Alive on I-75' challenge.
THP troopers and local law enforcement along the I-75 corridor have a goal this year to cut down the number of traffic deaths by 15 percent. So, expect to see more cruisers on the highways this weekend.
"We think that can serve as a deterrent. And what we're going to do is be very proactive in our enforcement laws, whether it be DUI, distracted driving, failure to wear seatbelts and our move over law, all those things. So, you're going to see a very active presence by our state troopers," said Bill Gibbons.
Tennessee isn't the only state stepping up enforcement. There will be more officers up and down I-75, all the way from Michigan to Florida.
