Truffle Cupboard Cafe & Sweets opens in Clinton

April 19, 2017: A new restaurant in Clinton is focused on bringing people good food and ministry.

CLINTON, TENN. - Truffles Cupboard Café and Sweets is a 14-year dream that is finally a reality for restaurant owner Rosemary Irwin. Her new café opened up in downtown Clinton Wednesday, where she plans to sell her home cooked meals and sweet treats daily.

Over a decade ago. Irwin bought a stuffed black lamb named Truffles, and through that one purchase Irwin said the Lord called to her.

“That Truffles, that lamb I collected was not just a lamb it was a way of life – and He was going to give me the restaurant in hopes of my dreams, where I cannot just serve people with food, but a chance for ministry," Irwin said.

Truffles is an acronym for Totally Reliant Upon Friendship, Fellowship and Love of an Everlasting Savior. Irwin teamed up with her son, Jonathan Kamar and together they said opening the restaurant has been a complete walk of faith.

“If prayer and faith wasn’t in it, then we wouldn’t be here," Kamar said.

Kamar said his mom is the best business partner that he could ask for. She gives everything 110 percent, and the Lord has guided them through this journey, he said.

Raised by a single mom, Irwin learned to cook at an early age and now her creations are made straight from the heart. The passion she and her family shares translates into the food. She uses creativity and experience to come up with her different homemade creations that range from sandwiches to chili with a twist.

Truffles Cupboard Café and Sweets is located at 303 Market St. in Clinton.
