Two TWRA officers thrown from boat, hurt after hitting debris

(WBIR) Two TWRA Officers sustained minor injuries Friday night after a boating accident on Norris Lake.

According to a release, the officers were patrolling Norris Lake around 10:30 p.m. Friday near Blue Springs Dock when they hit a large piece of floating debris. Both officers were thrown from the boat into the water.

One of the officers made it back to the boat and used their radio to call other wildlife officers for help.

Both sustained minor injuries and were treated and released from Claiborne County Hospital.

In a press release, TWRA credited life jackets with keeping the officers safe.

TWRA's Boating and Law Enforcement Division is investigating the incident.
