WBIR goes to LA: What's new with Chris Blue

Leslie Ackerson catches up with Chris Blue.

LOS ANGELES - Los Angeles is a city for dreamers, and it’s the place Chris Blue is living out his daily.

“It’s been phenomenal, I don't want to leave. I really don't want to leave I love it,” said Chris Blue.

He's called California home for more than a month.

"It’s a hybrid of New York and Florida, the weather reminds me a lot of Florida weather. City traffic and people New York feel,” said Blue.

As competition heats up for the Knoxville singer, each week brings the threat of elimination or having to see a friend leave, but Blue is just trying to enjoy the ride.

"They said this is one of the closest seasons you've ever seen. You try not to think about it as a competition, but say ‘God here we are, let us make the most and best of the moment,'” said Blue.

There are moments to have fun, to grow and possibly, take home a trophy.

"One thing I’ve learned from my coach Alicia (Keys) is we are just human beings so just be, don't try to do it, just be it. I think that's the best advice I’ve heard thus far, and best advice I’ve tried to give myself and then I just pray for God to take it all, Jesus take the wheel!" said Blue.

Chris will sing Bruno Mars “24k Magic” for Monday night’s next live round of The Voice.

Two of the top 10 artists will be eliminated on Tuesday. The Voice airs Mondays and Tuesday starting at 8 p.m. on WBIR.
