Fire destroys west Knox County home

Fire fighters are looking into what started a house fire early this morning in west Knox County. Around 3:30 a.m. dispatchers received a call about a house fire in the 200 block of Brampton Road.

When fire fighters arrived smoke and flames were coming from the home. Fire fighters tried going inside the home but had exit the home due to all the furniture and other items inside the home.

Fire fighters say the home owners had passed away and no one was living in the house, but there was electricity going to the home.

There were reports of an explosion from inside the home, but fire fighters say the sound was more than likely just the sound of the collapse of the house.

Fire fighters say the home was a total loss.
