KPD identifies man stabbed multiple times in west Knoxville

Update 10:35 am:

(WBIR) Knoxville police identified a man stabbed multiple times in his west Knoxville home early Sunday morning.

Officers found Justin Hayes, 31, suffering from multiple stab wounds on his neighbor's front porch on Agnes Road near Northshore Drive at about 3:30 a.m., according to a Knoxville Police Department release. Hayes told police that he was stabbed while trying to stop a fight in his house.

According to KPD's preliminary investigation, a man and a woman were fighting, and when Hayes asked them to stop, the man allegedly stabbed him multiple times. After regaining consciousness, Hayes told officers he went to his neighbor's house for help.

Emergency crews transported him to UT Medical Center. 10News has put in a request at the hospital for his condition.

Officials said they're following several leads on the suspect.

A man was hospitalized early Sunday morning, after an overnight stabbing in West Knoxville.

The Knoxville Police Department responded to a home on Agnes Road, near Northshore Drive around 3:30 Sunday morning. Officers found a man sitting on the front porch of his neighbor's home with multiple stab wounds. Emergency crews transported him to UT Medical Center. Police have not yet released the victim's name.

KPD says suspect fled the scene before police arrived, and the investigation is ongoing.
