Missing teen said he was lost in the woods

According to the Knox County Sheriff's office 17 year old Andy Allen has been found safe.

A witness told authorities that Andy Allen walked out of the woods at Hart Road around 8 am Tuesday morning. He walked to a Weigel's on Northshore Drive.

Another person recognized him, and called 911. He was taken to a back room, and when deputies arrived, he told them he'd been lost in the woods and couldn't find his way out.

He was checked for injuries, then sent home with his parents.

The Knox County Sheriff's Office is looking for a teenager in West Knox County who hasn't been seen since early Sunday morning.

Investigators said Andy Allen, 17, left his father's house at Westland and Northshore on foot around 1 a.m. and was last spotted in the Northshore, Pellissippi area around 3 a.m.

Allen is a student at Oak Ridge High School. He's described as a white male, 5'9", and 165 pounds.

He is the son of Knox County Assistant District Attorney Kevin Allen, and stepson of new District Attorney Charme Knight.

Family and friends are searching for Allen Monday in the area he was last seen. The Knox County Sheriff's Office helicopter is searching by air.
