When getting prepared for winter, don't forget your pet!
Experts recommend that you provide extra blankets and bedding in your home to help keep your pet warm and cozy. Short-haired dogs may even prefer to wear a sweater!
For breeds with longer hair, brush them often. Cleaning out the dead hair will prevent matting, help the fur to dry after being outside and encourage new fur to grow.
After your dog goes outside for a walk or to play, make sure you dry out their ears to prevent infections. They paws will also need maintenance and trimming the hair between their pads will aid in that process.
If your pet won't wear booties when out for a walk, wash your pet's feet when you return home. The salt and chemicals used to treat sidewalks and roads can be harmful if ingested.
