Woman arrested after tennis racket attack

A Clarksville woman was arrested after attacking a man with a tennis racket.

Officers responded to 13 Summit Heights at 8 p.m. Tuesday.

The man said he spit in the yard of Danielle Rutledge, 19, at 13F Summit Heights while he and his friends were riding

their bikes. Rutledge began threatening the man. She then went into her home and retrieved a tennis racket. The man tried to ride away on his bike, but Rutledge chased after him, and threw the racket but missed, the warrant said.

Rutledge was able to retrieve the racket, catch up with him and allegedly began hitting the man on the right arm and legs. The arresting officer stated he saw cuts and bruising on the man's arm.

When the officer asked for a description of his attacker, the man pulled up a picture of Rutledge on a social media website along with her full name. The officer was then able to look through police databases to confirm the suspect's address, date of birth and social security number, which matched Rutledge on the social media website.

Rutledge was charged with aggravated assault. She was booked into the Montgomery County Jail on a $5,000 bond.
