An apology is due Donald Rumsfeld, as far as the vice president is concerned.

Dick Cheney is coming to Rumsfeld's defense, over some stinging comments made by senator and presidential hopeful John McCain.

During a campaign stop this week, McCain labeled Rumsfeld "one of the worst secretaries of defense," and accused him of "mismanagement" of the Iraq war.

Cheney tells ABC he thinks McCain is "wrong," and says Rumsfeld did a "superb" job running the Pentagon. And, Cheney adds that maybe McCain will apologize to Rumsfeld.

The vice president says McCain already apologized to him for saying Cheney had "badly served" President Bush on Iraq.
