The Party Rock Fire near Lake Lure is about 5,714 acres and 19 percent contained as of Wednesday night, according to North Carolina Forest Services.

Filmmakers have used Lake Lure as a location for movies such as “Thunder Road,” “Dirty Dancing” and “The Last of the Mohicans.”
An ongoing drought in the Southeast has brought forth an outburst of wildfires throughout the region this month.
