New law lightens restrictions on switchblades

Governor Haslam has signed a weapons bill that lightens restrictions on switch blades and knives.

The new bill allows Tennessee residents to carry a knife with a blade longer than four inches. It also allows owners to carry a knife with them without facing any charges.

The bill also raises the maximum fine to $6,000 for anyone who uses a switchblade knife during a felony crime.
