Chattanooga police say a juvenile robbery suspect's curious friend unintentionally helped them find him.
Police say the 17-year-old is accused of pulling a pistol on a woman Saturday night and striking her son with it in a school parking lot. The woman told police one of the suspect's friends called out his name and asked what he was doing.
When the suspect got home, investigators were waiting.
He is charged with aggravated robbery, aggravated assault and unlawfully possessing a firearm on school property.
The woman told investigators the suspect approached her, stuck the pistol against her ribs and demanded money. He then allegedly got in her vehicle at Tyner High School where her children were sitting, grabbed her purse and her daughter's backpack and struck her son with the pistol.
