Fourteen-year-old Brie Carter is accustomed to winning. She's been winning skiing tournaments, state titles, regional titles and even national titles since 2005.
Carter is one of three skiing sisters who are trained by their father, Chris. Each has been successful in their age group by following a training program Chris said was influenced by his time as a Navy pilot.
Brie is the reigning Girls 2 National Champion and has just moved up to Girls 3, where her boat will travel at 34 miles per hour, up from the 32 mph in Girls 2. Already, she's ranked third in the world and is thinking ahead to the professional skiing ranks.
The Carter family is competitive. They keep up with personal bests when they ski together, and the loser has to wash the dishes. Dad Chris said for the last two years, his hands have been clean with all the dishwashing he's had to do.
