A western Kentucky murder case that dates back nearly eight years has gone to a jury.
Attorneys gave closing arguments in the case Tuesday in Hickman County.
Quincy Omar Cross of Tiptonville, Tenn., is charged with the rape, kidnapping and murder of 18-year-old Jessica Currin in Mayfield. Her body was found burned behind a school in 2000.
Prosecutor Barbara Maines Whaley gave a 90-minute closing argument that detailed the night of Currin's death as told by two key witnesses who testified that they were with Cross the night he killed Currin.
Cross' lawyer, Vince Yustas, said the witnesses have given several conflicting accounts and can't be trusted.
Jurors went into the jury room to deliberate at 1:20 p.m. EST.
