KPD: Traffic on I-40 East reopens after two crashes

No word on the extend of the injuries of either crash on I-40.

KNOXVILLE - All lanes of traffic on Interstate 40 East have reopened Monday morning after two separate crashes, according to the Knoxville Police Department.

The first crash involving three tractor trailer trucks happened around 2:24 a.m. Monday on I-40 East between the Cherry Street exit and Rutledge Pike exit, according to the Knoxville Police Department.

The second crash involving two tractor trailer trucks and a car happened around 5:42 a.m. Monday on I-40 East near the Cherry Street exit, according to the Tennessee Department of Transportation.

There is no word on the extent of the injuries for either crash as of 7 a.m. Monday.
