KNOXVILLE - Ride-sharing company Lyft is expanding its services to Knoxville and Chattanooga on Thursday.

Apple and Android users can download the app to catch a ride.

Fare information on the Knoxville and Chattanooga pages go live around noon Thursday.

New passengers can use the code "LYFTINTYS" to get $5 off their first ride.

A Lyft spokesperson said the passengers will be able to take Lyft to and from McGhee Tyson Airport.

Prior to Thursday, San Francisco-based Lyft already operated in the Tennessee cities Germantown, Memphis and Nashville.

Lyft’s decision to expand to Knoxville and Chattanooga comes after Uber's August 2014 launch in Knoxville.
