U.S. Department of Education to host webinar for displaced ITT students Wednesday

In response to the outpouring of disgruntled ITT Technical Institute students who will be adversely affected by the sudden nation-wide closure of campuses, the U.S. Department of Education (ED) will be hosting national webinars starting this week to address questions and concerns.

The national webinars will begin Wednesday, Sept. 7 at 10 a.m. They will also be held at noon and at 2 p.m. the same day. If additional webinars are needed, the ED has said that they will make the dates and times available online.

According to the Federal Student Aid website, the webinar rooms will open 30-minutes prior to the start of the presentation. There will be accommodations for the hearing impaired and instructions on how to ask questions using the online chat room.

There will also be a mobile device application available for those who need it. You can find the links to download the mobile phone applications by clicking here.

The webinars will be recorded and archived for ITT students to access at a later time.

The ED has announced that they will be contacting via e-mail currently and recently enrolled students to inform them of ITT's closure and the options they have going forward.

Former ITT students should make a point to contact ED in regards to school loan discharges and the retrieval of student records.
