The Tennessee Supreme Court has denied a motion for appeal by a Campbell County teen who pleaded guilty to the fatal shooting of his principal, then tried to withdraw the plea.

The trial court declined to hear Bartley's attempt to rescind his guilty plea. The Court of Criminal Appeals upheld Bartlely's guilty plea.

Now, the Tennessee Supreme Court has declined to hear Bartley's case.

Bartley's attorney, Bruce Poston, said Kenneth Bartley did not understand the plea agreement he signed in April 2007.

Bartley pleaded guilty to second degree murder and two counts attempted second degree murder.

Investigators said Bartley shot and killed Assistant Principal Ken Bruce at Campbell County High School in 2005.
