Senate passes resolution for Congo adoptions

Friday, the Senate passed a resolution aimed at speeding up adoptions from the Democratic Republic of Congo. The resolution asked the government to resume issuing exit permits.

Tennessee Senator Bob Corker wrote a letter to the president and prime minister of the Congo to stop the delays.

Previously we told you about the Carroll family who is waiting on those exit permits to get their legally adopted children here to the U.S.

The Congolese government suspended issuing exit permits for children who had already been legally adopted by U.S. families last September.

Until they resume issuing those permits, the Carroll family is stuck waiting for their children.
