Former Knox County Criminal Court Judge Richard Baumgartner
Former Knox County Criminal Court Judge Richard Baumgartner has been disbarred.
The order of disbarment came Wednesday from the Tennessee Supreme Court.
Baumgartner, who was accused of accepting drugs from defendants who appeared before him, pleaded guilty in March to one count of official misconduct, and agreed to step down from the bench. He was sentenced to two years of judicial diversion, and, pending a clean two years, will not have a criminal record.
