City officials conducted a "codes enforcement sweep" Wednesday in a neighborhood near Downtown Knoxville.

They looked for housing violations, overgrown lots and other neighborhood problems.

Officials left warnings for residents informing them of the violations found.

It'll all part of the city's effort to make sure neighborhoods are safe for everyone.

Officers will return to the neighborhood in about two weeks and check to make sure the issues have been taken care of. If they haven't, the city will issue citations.
