On Tuesday, the Tennessee Supreme Court denied Shelley Breeding's appeal.

Previous story

(June 15, 2012) A woman hoping to run for a state legislature seat in Knox County is appealing her denial to the state Supreme Court.

The state Court of Appeals ruled Thursday that Shelley Breeding cannot run for the 89th House district seat because she's an Anderson County resident.

The new district covers Karns and Hardin Valley in West Knox County.

A Knoxville geographic information system map shows Breeding's house is in Anderson County, but her driveway and mailbox are in Knox County.

Breeding argues the maps are inaccurate.
