A Knoxville woman is facing charges after crashing her SUV into another vehicle head-on on Highway 33 in Union County, according to a report from the Tennessee Highway Patrol.
A 5-year-old child and two twins whose age was not released were also in the vehicle.
The report said 25-year-old Amber Lee tried to pass a vehicle in her 2002 Ford Explorer around 9:00pm, lost control and crashed into a 2003 Lincoln Navigator being driven by 52-year-old Lloyd Walker of New Tazewell.
The Explorer rolled over, injuring Lee and the children.
The THP report said Lee and all three children were transported to a local hospital.
One child pulled the another of the children from the car. The third child was trapped and had to be removed by emergency personnel. None of the children were restrained in a proper car seat.
Lloyd Walker was uninjured, but his passenger, 51-year-old Debbie Walker, was transported to a hospital.
THP said Amber Lee had numerous charges pending; including suspended license, vehicular assault, child restraint, improper passing, DUI, and no insurance.
