Ayres Hall has achieved silver level LEED certification.
The building reopened in January 2011 after extensive renovations.
The $23 million project maintained the historic grandeur of the building but added many energy improvements.
UT made green building its standard in 2007 for new construction and renovation projects.
UT has applied for LEED certification for the new Student Health Building and the Kin Kao Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Building.
