Several East Tennessee charities got a financial boost Friday from a Big Orange fundraiser.
Vols football coach Derek Dooley and his wife Allison presented a check for $190,000 to Variety- The Children's Charity.
The charity teams up with the Dooleys each year for the Big Orange Experience fundraiser.
The money will go to seven different organizations, including the Knox County Imagination Library.
They say donations like this are crucial for their mission.
"It's a wonderful program. It's reading in the home, in the families of children from birth to age 5, by the time they start school, they should have a library of 60 books. That was what Dolly Parton wanted when she started this program in 1996. We're thrilled," said Bonny Naugher, chairman of the Imagination Library Board for Knox County.
The fundraiser was held in May.
