The state of Tennessee is giving Big Brothers Big Sisters $250,000 in grant money.

The move will help fund the Amachi Initiative. Big Brothers Big Sisters started the program back in 2004 as a way to provide mentors for the children whose parents are in prison.

Big Brothers Big Sisters has agencies across the state, including here in Knoxville.
