Interstate 75 in Campbell County could fully reopen by mid-August.
Crews have been working on the roadway since March after a landslide caused parts of the interstate to give way.
Both northbound lanes reopened last month.
TDOT says crews are making good progress, and a second southbound lane could reopen by the end of the week.
When that happens, TDOT says there will be some northbound lane closures so crews can continue milling, paving and marking the road.
TDOT hopes to have the interstate fully open again by August 13, more than a month ahead of the original completion date.
